The SAM-NGARM is an Electro Mechanical Safety and Arming Mechanism specifically designed for airborne missile applications. It integrates multiple safety interlocks to ensure the warhead remains unarmed during all non-operational phases, including handling, transportation, storage, and pre-launch. Upon receiving a trigger signal from the Autonomous Onboard Controller (AOBC), SAM-NGARM arms and initiates the ADM explosive train via the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The system features dual-redundant acceleration sensing (electrical and mechanical) and supports robust interface connectivity, ensuring reliable and secure operation in high-dynamic flight environments.

Operation Mode :
The SAM-NGARM includes multiple operational capabilities to support flexible and safe warhead arming under varying mission profiles:
- Safe Mode:System remains unarmed to prevent accidental detonation during ground handling, transportation, or storage.
- Rotor-Based Arming:Uses a mechanical rotor mechanism for arming/unarming control.
- ECU Commanded Detonation:ADM gets armed and detonated on receiving firing pulses from the Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
- Dual-Redundant Acceleration Sensing:Electrical and mechanical sensors ensure secure and fault-tolerant arming logic.
- Digital Input Interface:Integrated with 8 digital isolated inputs for robust command processing
Fuze Safety:
The SAM-NGARM ensures that the warhead firing train remains disabled during all non-launch conditions. Even in the event of an unintended primer ignition, the mechanism prevents the transfer of a firing pulse, thereby maintaining total safety during pre-launch activities.
Distant Arming:
SAM-NGARM is designed to arm only after confirmation of launch via sensing of acceleration and setback forces, ensuring it remains in a safe condition while still onboard the aircraft or launcher.
FUZE ACTION:
The mechanism initiates warhead detonation by detecting impact and acceleration through dual-redundant sensors. Arming and detonation are precisely managed via rotor positioning and ECU commands, ensuring safe and reliable warhead function.
